Company history

The company was founded in Brooklyn , New York , in 1902 . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Petromobile . Production ended in 1902.

The company manufactured many parts for the vehicles itself. This included the gasoline engine that developed 9 hp . It was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle via a two-speed gearbox and a chain. The power transmission was bought in, as were the tires and rims. The basic version was steered with a steering lever. A steering wheel was available as an option.
