Hampden Automobile & Launch Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
James Frank Duryea , known from Duryea , WD Eaton and AM Green founded the company in September 1900. The company was based in Springfield , Massachusetts . They made automobiles that were marketed as Hampden . Production ended in 1901. In total, only a few vehicles were built. Duryea then switched to Stevens-Duryea .
Homer R. Burton and RA McKee took over the company and turned it into an auto repair shop.

Only one model was on offer. It had a two - cylinder four-stroke engine . It was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle. A special feature was that the engine could be started from the seat. The open body in the form of a runabout offered space for two people. The curb weight was given as 340 kg.
