Dey-Griswold & Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Harry E. Dey founded the company in New York City in 1895 . He made some automobiles in collaboration with the Pawtucket Motor Carriage Company . The brand name was Dey-Griswold . Production ended in 1898.

Dey manufactured vehicles again from 1915 to 1917 in the Dey Electric Corporation .

Electric cars were on offer . They had a special type of power transmission, which, however, did not work. It is considered the world's oldest torque converter . An illustration shows an open two-seater Phaeton with a steering lever.
