Mobile Company of America was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
John Brisben Walker and Amzi Lorenzo Barber founded the Locomobile Company of America in June 1899 . A short time later they separated. Walker only got the rights to market the designed vehicle under his name. He started his own business in Tarrytown , New York State , in the summer of 1899 . In March 1900 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Mobile . At the end of 1903, production came to a standstill. In May 1904 Maxwell-Briscoe acquired the plant.
The company was in constant competition with Locomobile. Mobile offered more body styles, but was still inferior in sales. By the end of production in 1903, 600 vehicles were built, while Locomobile had produced 5,000 vehicles by then.

Only steam cars were on offer . A steam engine with two cylinders and 10 hp powered the vehicles.
They had different structures. Some were passenger cars , others were vans , trucks, and buses . Are called Runabout , Victoria , Dos-à-dos , Surrey , Stanhope , Wagonette , touring cars and coupe .
