Taunton Motor Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1904 in Taunton , Massachusetts . It moved into the factory in which the Taunton Automobile Company previously operated . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Taunton . In 1905 the company moved within the city. Vehicle production ended later in the year.

A reorganization led to the Taunton Motor Manufacturing Company , which only manufactured engines .

The vehicles had a single cylinder engine with 7 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 173 cm . The setup was a runabout . It offered two seats and two folding emergency seats in the front of the vehicle. Was steered with a steering lever. The original price was 850 US dollars .
