Carter Brothers Motor Company , according to a source Carter Brothers Motor Car Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The brothers Gary and Howard Carter had already gained experience in automobile construction with their Washington Motor Car Company . They founded the company in Hyattsville , Maryland in late 1916 . In November 1916 it was announced that they were taking over all rights to the bankrupt Monarch Motor Car Company . In 1917 the production of automobiles began. Contrary to the original intention, the brand name was no longer Monarch , but CB . Production ended in 1918.

The brothers founded the Carter Motor Car Company in 1921 .

The Eight-28 had an eight-cylinder engine and the Twelve-65 had a twelve-cylinder engine . Both models came from Monarch. Another source thinks both were V-engines .

A smaller model with a four-cylinder engine was announced as the Monarch Midget and went into production as the CB Four-28 . The original price was 575 US dollars .
