H. Pokorney & Richards Automobile & Gas Engine Company was a US-American manufacturer of engines and automobiles . Another source uses the name Pokorney & Richards Automobile & Gas Engine Company .

Company history

In 1904, H. Pokorney manufactured some gasoline engines and a prototype of an automobile. He then founded the company with a Mr. Richards in Indianapolis , Indiana . The production of engines and automobiles began. The brand name was Tricolet . Vehicle production ended in 1906. After that, engines were made.

The vehicles had a two-cylinder engine with air cooling and 6 hp . It was mounted in the rear and drove the rear axle via a two-speed planetary gear . A reverse gear was only available on special request. Usually the vehicle had three wheels with a single front wheel. Four-wheeled vehicles were available at an additional cost. The tricycle was steered with a steering lever. The chassis had a wheelbase of 168 cm . The original price was 425 US dollars for the tricycle and 450 dollars for the four-wheeler.
