The vehicles had a gasoline engine . The name Crest Duplex has been passed down for the motor , which suggests that it was made by the Crest Manufacturing Company . It was mounted under the seat. The power transmission to the rear axle was a special construction. The rest of the vehicle matched many competing models. The open structure offered space for two people.
