Clinton E. Woods was an American automobile brand.

Brand history

Clinton Edgar Woods had automotive experience with the American Electric Vehicle Company in 1896 . He developed an electric car in 1897 , which he gave his name to. The first attempt at marketing by the Aluminum Motor Vehicle Company failed. In 1898 around 60 vehicles were built for him at the Fisher Equipment Company in Chicago , Illinois . From 1899 he was involved in the Woods Motor Vehicle Company , which he left again.

In 1901 he founded the Woods-Waring Company , also in Chicago. There he manufactured other vehicles. Production ended at the end of 1901.

Only electric cars were on offer. For the period from 1898 to 1899, bodies as Hansom Cab and Road Buggy have been handed down. Later there was a Light Stanhope , Brougham Cab, Victoria Stanhope and a light commercial vehicle .
