Jones-Corbin Automobile Company , previously the Jones-Corbin Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

George H. Jones and EO Corbin founded the Jones-Corbin Company in 1903 . The seat was in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Jones-Corbin . At the end of 1903 the name was changed to Jones-Corbin Automobile Company . Production ended in 1907.

The Matthews Motor Company took over the company.

1903 there was only the Model A . It had a single cylinder engine similar to those of De Dion-Bouton , with 8 hp . The water cooling was supposed to function like the Mercedes cars of the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft . The horn was imported and highlighted as particularly large. The chassis had a wheelbase of 198 cm . The only structure was an open runabout with two seats.

From 1904 to 1905 this model remained unchanged. The Model B was added. Its two-cylinder engine developed 14 hp. The wheelbase was also 198 cm. In addition to a two-seater runabout, a four-seater was Tonneau and a Canopy Top - touring car with five seats available.

Between 1906 and 1907 there was only one model in the range, the L model. The four-cylinder engine developed 45 hp. The wheelbase of 279 cm enabled bodies as tonneau with side access and limousine .
