Spaulding Automobile & Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Henry F. Spaulding and his brother CM founded the company in January 1902. The company was based in Buffalo , New York . They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Spaulding . The first series comprised 100 vehicles. There were two legal problems with Oldsmobile . First it concerned the engine and then the suspension, which was too similar to the Oldsmobile. In February 1903, financial problems became known that led to bankruptcy . In March 1903 everything was sold to JF Morlock, who then founded the Morlock Automobile Manufacturing Company .

There was no connection to the Spaulding Manufacturing Company , which from 1910 also manufactured passenger cars of the Spaulding brand.
