The Essex Automobile & Supply Company was based in Haverhill , Massachusetts from 1901 to 1902 . In 1902 it became the Essex Automobile Company based in Lynn , also in Massachusetts. The production of automobiles ran from 1901 to 1902. The brand name was Essex .

There was no connection with the Essex Motor Car Company and Essex (car brand) .

The only model was a small runabout . The four-cylinder engine was unusual for such a vehicle , while many competing models only had one or two-cylinder engines . It made 5 hp and drove the rear axle via a chain. The chassis had a wheelbase of 152 cm . The open body offered space for two people. Was steered with a steering lever. On fender has been omitted. The original price was 700 US dollars .
