Wood-Loco Vehicle Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
In 1900, Joseph C. Wood and his brother ran a new and used furniture store in Worcester , Massachusetts . He also experimented with automobiles. In October 1900 he sold the business. In 1901 he founded the new company in Cohoes , New York State, together with some local business people . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Wood-Loco . Production ended in 1902. In 1903 the company was dissolved.
In 1903, Wood founded the Wood Vapor Vehicle Company and again manufactured motor vehicles .

Only steam cars were on offer . The steam engine had two cylinders and developed 8 hp . It was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle. One source mentions Runabout in the seating arrangement vis-à-vis with space for five people and a delivery van . Another source cites a two-seat runabout, a five-seat dos-à-dos , and a delivery truck.
