Des Moines Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The company was founded in Des Moines , Iowa , in January 1902 . CB Paul was president and his brother JE Paul was secretary. WF Pillsbury became the new president after just one month, and WE Stone was also active in the company. They planned the production of automobiles with electric and gasoline engines . The idea with electric cars was not implemented. The brand name was Des Moines . Production came to a standstill towards the end of the same year. The company existed longer as a car workshop.
It is not known how many vehicles were made. In 1910 three vehicles were still registered in Des Moines.
One source sees the Des Moines Cycle Company from 1894 to 1899 as a predecessor company. However, the owner names Riddell and Mitchell do not match.

The vehicles had a single cylinder engine . It was mounted under the seats and drove the rear axle via a chain. Was steered with a steering lever. The motorette version offered space for two people. Stanhope and Tonneau were a little taller. In addition, an imperial is called.
