Maryland Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles . The name Maryland Automobile & Manufacturing Company is also called.

Company history

The company was founded in Luke , Maryland in the spring of 1900 . Joseph Borrow, John C. Bossel, SB Harcom, Milton Jacobi and Alexander S. Stern were involved. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Maryland . In December 1900 a storm destroyed the plant. However, the company was insured. After reconstruction, production continued. The bankruptcy began on May 15, 1901 .

In 1902 another company took over the plant.

There was no association with the Sinclair-Scott Company , which used the same brand name a few years later.

Only steam cars were on offer . They had a steam engine with two cylinders . The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a chain. The superstructures are Tourist Carriage , Surrey , Phaeton , Runabout , Omnibus , another omnibus with 14 seats, a delivery van and a racing machine . The new prices were between 900 and 2500 US dollars .
