Milwaukee Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Herman Pfiel, WG Smith and WH Starkweather founded the company in December 1899. The company was based in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . Production took place at a Milwaukee Engineering Company facility . Automobiles were manufactured from 1900 to 1902. The brand name was Milwaukee . One of the employees was WH McIntyre, who later founded the WH McIntyre Company .
The end came in May 1902. One source cites overproduction as the reason. Bankruptcy followed in June 1902 . In July 1902 everything was auctioned. In August 1902, George Whitney of the Whitney Motor Wagon Company sued the company for patent infringement .
Other US manufacturers of passenger cars with Milwaukee in brand names were Milwaukee automobiles and Brass Specialty Company , Milwaukee Moto Company and Milwaukee Auto Engines and Supply Company .

1900 had the vehicles a two-cylinder - steam engine with 5 hp power. The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a chain. Was steered with a steering lever. The bodies mentioned are Stanhope , Surrey and delivery van .
In 1901 little changed. The Stanhope was omitted. A truck was new . In addition, prices have increased.
In 1902 there were Runabout , Surrey and delivery trucks. Another source states that a new model was introduced in 1902. With a front hood that looked like a hood , the vehicles appeared more modern. A steering wheel was also new . The structure was a four-seater tonneau with rear entry.
Two cars occasionally take part in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run . The vehicle, with the British registration number BS 8541 , went up for auction on October 12, 2016 with an estimate of £ 50,000 to £ 70,000 . It was auctioned again on March 4, 2017, this time at an estimate of £ 40,000.
