Thompson Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

JP Thompson and KA Luthe founded the company in 1901. The seat was in Providence , Rhode Island . Luthe previously worked for the Steamobile Company of America . In the same year the production of motor vehicles began. The brand name was Thompson . The focus was on commercial vehicles . In 1903 Arthur A. Morin became the third partner. Production ended in 1907.

Other US manufacturers of passenger cars of the brand Thompson were Zenas Thompson & Brothers and Thompson .

Only steam cars were on offer . They had a steam engine of Fitzheney , the 8/10 PS was given, and a cauldron of Tomkin .

Are called vans , trucks , buses and passenger cars .

The only car model was the wagonette . One version offered space for eight to ten people, another for seven people and another for six people, with the seats in the dos-à-dos passenger compartment. The solid rubber tires were striking .

At least four vehicles were exported to Puerto Rico . Among them were a delivery van and three omnibuses with 16 seats.
