Huntington Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

John F. McMulkin gained experience in automotive engineering as an engineer with the Daimler Manufacturing Company . He founded the company in Huntington , New York , in 1906 . August Heckscher is said to have been a financier. They started producing automobiles in the same year. The brand name was Merciless . The similarity to the Mercedes brand of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft was intentional. Production ended in 1907. A total of four vehicles were built.

In December 1907 the bankruptcy followed .

The only model resembled a model from Mercedes. The vehicles were powered by a six-cylinder engine with 70 hp . A bore of 120.65 mm and a stroke of 146.05 mm resulted in a displacement of 10,018 cm³ . The chassis had a wheelbase of 323 cm . The open touring car offered space for seven people.
