CF Weeber Manufacturing Works was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

Christian F. Weeber Jr. founded the company in 1896. The seat was in Albany , New York . At first he made bicycles . In 1898 the production of automobiles began . The brand name was Weeber . In 1905 the production of motor vehicles ended . In total, only a few vehicles were built. In addition, were stationary engines and vehicle parts manufactured.

From 1906 the company operated as a car dealership . There was also an association with Willard J. Sutherland Sr. and his Central Automobile Company . They sold Maxwell Motor Company and Ford vehicles . After this connection was terminated in 1907, the range was limited to Ford vehicles. In 1909 Ohio Motor Car Company , Chase Motor Truck Company , Allen , Standard , American Motors Company and Mais were added. Haynes Automobile Company followed in 1910 and Everitt-Metzger-Flanders Company with EMF and Flanders in 1911 . In 1920 vehicle sales were given up. Weeber died in 1932. After that, the company is lost.

Motor vehicles

The first vehicle of 1898 had a single cylinder - four-stroke engine . The air-cooled motor was mounted under the seat. It drove the rear axle via a chain. The fuel tank was at the front under a hood.

A touring car has been handed down for 1903 .

In August 1904 an automobile magazine reported on the engines. Accordingly, the engine output increased from 4.5 HP to 8 HP. The engines were still air-cooled.

In 1905 three vehicles were registered.

A vehicle from 1903 and other individual parts of two vehicles still exist. They are on display at the New York State Museum in Albany.
