Tiley-Pratt Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was based in Essex , Connecticut . Charles B. Tiley and his two brothers were the driving forces. Mainly they made parts for bicycles . In addition, automobiles were made from 1904. The brand name was Tiley . In 1907 a fire in the factory caused problems, but in 1908 the factory was rebuilt. Vehicle production ended in 1913. A total of 24 vehicles were produced. The company was dissolved around 1914.

Many vehicles had a four-cylinder engine from the Rutenber Motor Company . It was rated at 32/36 hp . Alternatively, a six-cylinder engine was possible. The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a cardan shaft .
