Grinnell Electric Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1911 as one of the two successor companies to the Phipps-Grinnell Automobile Company , after the partners Phipps and Grinnell separated. The seat was in Detroit , Michigan . CA Grinnell and Ira Grinnell ran it. They started producing automobiles in 1912. The brand name was Grinnell . Production ended in 1915. In January 1916, the owners announced the end of production in a newspaper advertisement.

Only electric cars were on offer . They were similar to the models of the predecessor company.

For 1912, Model H as a Brougham with 229 cm wheelbase and Model K as a coupé with 234 cm wheelbase have been handed down.

In 1913 the Model H was referred to as a coupe. When Model K the wheelbase has been extended to 239 cm. Model M was new . This coupe was based on a chassis with a 244 cm wheelbase.

In 1914 only the Model K was taken over. For this, the Model R appeared with a 267 cm wheelbase, which was called the French Brougham , and the Model S as a Brougham with a 254 cm wheelbase.

Model K was discontinued in 1915 . The other two models from the previous year remained unchanged in the range.
