Los Angeles Cyclecar Company or Los Angeles Cycle Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

LE French founded the California Cycle Car Company in 1913 and developed a small car, but failed on the market.

Later in 1913, he found new donors and founded the new company in Los Angeles , California . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Los Angeles . The main factory was in Compton , California. A second factory there was in Buffalo in the US state New York , the earlier the ER Thomas Motor Car Company used.

Production ended in 1914.

Initially, there were two models in the range, which were referred to as cycle cars , although they did not meet the displacement criterion. The 9 HP Angelus had a two-cylinder engine with 85.725 mm bore , 98.425 mm stroke , 1136 cm³ displacement and 9 HP power. The 12/15 HP Pacific had a four-cylinder engine with 63.5 mm bore, 88.9 mm stroke, 1126 cm³ displacement and 12 hp. Both engines were air-cooled . The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a friction gear and belt. The chassis had a wheelbase of 259 cm and a track width of 112 cm . The vehicles were open roadsters with two seats.

In 1914 a stronger model appeared. It had a water-cooled four - cylinder engine with 18 hp. The wheelbase was 254 cm.
