Morton Motor Works was a US company in the mechanical engineering sector and manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Raleigh A. Morton and his partner ran the company as a mechanical workshop. The seat was in San José , California . In 1904 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Morton . Production ended in 1905. A second source confirms the production period for passenger cars from 1904 to 1905 .

The partners then separated. After that, Knapp continued to work in the automotive industry. First he founded the Knapp Manufacturing Company , but only produced a prototype . He later worked for the Sunset Automobile Company and the Victory Motor Car Company.
