Allen Iron & Steel Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was based in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . In 1914, the production of automobiles began under the direction of Phillip M. Maloney. The brand name was Allen . Production ended in the same year. Overall, only a few vehicles were built.

The first model was a light car , a small car , classified slightly above cycle cars . A water-cooled four - cylinder engine with an output of 20 hp propelled the vehicles via a friction gear and two belts. The wheelbase was 274 cm. The track width of 112 cm made it possible to arrange two seats next to each other. The open body of the roadster had a convertible top as standard. The maximum speed was given as 80 km / h.
