Windsor Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

JA Windsor founded the company in Chicago , Illinois in late 1905 . 1906 began production of automobiles in cooperation with the Single Center Spring Company in Evansville , Indiana . The brand name was Windsor . Production ended in the same year. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

Only one model was on offer. It had a four-cylinder engine . 114.3 mm bore and 95.25 mm stroke resulted in 3909 cc displacement . The engine developed 30 hp or 40 hp , depending on the source . The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a friction gear . One source calls cardan drive , another chain drive. The chassis had a wheelbase of 267 cm . The structure was an open touring car with five seats. The original price was 2500 US dollars .
