Universal Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles . Another source uses the Universal Motor Company name .

Company history

The company was founded in Washington , Pennsylvania in 1914 . RM Paxton was President, JH Donnan was Vice President, and JB Allison was Treasurer. They moved into the former plant of the Croxton-Keeton Motor Company . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Universal . Production ended in 1914. Everything was auctioned in February 1915.

Only one model was on offer. It had a four-cylinder engine with water cooling . 71.4375 mm bore and 101.6 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 1629 cc . The engine output of 18 hp was transferred to the rear axle via a three-speed gearbox. The chassis had a wheelbase of 244 cm . The only structure was a roadster with two seats. The original price was 475 US dollars .
