Ward Motor Vehicle Company was an American manufacturer of motor vehicles .

Company history

Charles A. Ward founded the company in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City in 1910 . He started with the production of commercial vehicles . Passenger cars were added in 1913 . The brand name was Ward .

In 1915 the company moved to Mount Vernon , also in the US state of New York . Car production ended in 1916. Trucks were manufactured until 1934 or 1937, depending on the source, and bodies until 1965.

There was no connection with the Ward Cyclecar Company , which at the same time also offered passenger cars as Ward .

Only electric cars were on offer . The only car model was only available as a coupé with space for four people. The engine power was transmitted via a cardan shaft . The range was given as 160 km. The original price was initially 2100 US dollars and last year 1295 dollars.

The commercial vehicles have electric motors of Westinghouse . The vehicles were specified with up to 10 tons.
