Euclid Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles from Ohio .

Company history

Herbert R. Palmer had previously gained automotive experience with the Palmer Automobile Manufacturing Company . In 1907 he founded the company in Cleveland . Automobile production began at the end of 1907. The brand name was Euclid . Production ended after about a year in 1908.

There was no connection to the Euclid Motor Car Company of the same name from Connecticut or to the Berg Automobile Company , which used the same brand name.

vehicles

There were two different models on offer. Both had an air-cooled three - cylinder two-stroke engine made in-house. It drove the rear axle via a friction gear and two chains. The chassis had a wheelbase of 254 cm . The superstructures were open.

The engine in the roadster had 85.725 mm cylinder bore , 88.9 mm stroke , 1539 cc displacement and 20 hp . The touring car had a more powerful engine. 101.6 mm bore and 114.3 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 2780 cc and 35 hp.
