Morse Motor Vehicle Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Sewell Morse had developed the prototype of a steam car in his home town of Detroit . There he did not succeed in finding investors for series production.

He moved to the east coast of the United States , because steam cars were more common there than in the Detroit area. He founded the company in 1905 together with Edward H. Cullen, J. Frank Drake, Clinton Gowdy, Charles L. Hoyt, J. Douglas Law, AE Snow and FH Young. The seat was in Springfield , Massachusetts . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Morse . Production ended in 1906.

Other US manufacturers of passenger cars of the brand Morse were Morse , Easton Machine Company , Morse Cyclecar Company and Morse readio Auto Company .

Only steam cars were on offer. They had a three- cylinder steam engine . It made 20 hp and drove the rear axle. The chassis had a wheelbase of 262 cm . The structure was a touring car with five seats.
