Auburn Motor Chassis Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was based in Auburn , Indiana . It manufactured automobiles between 1912 and 1915, which were marketed as Auburn .

There was no connection with the better known Auburn Automobile Company from the same town.

Highwheelers were on offer . With their big wheels, they were well suited for the bad roads of the time. The vehicles were powered by a two-cylinder engine with 12/14 hp . Most of the engines were air-cooled . Many vehicles were commercial vehicles .

The shortest vehicle with a wheelbase of 165 cm was a buggy. The runabout had a 196 cm wheelbase. The Handy Wagon , also with a 196 cm wheelbase, was a car that was suitable for transporting loads after removing the rear seats. The delivery as a commercial vehicle with a 218 cm wheelbase was available with around 360 kg payload and with around 680 kg payload.

The only model with water cooling was a delivery with around 450 kg payload.
