Gary Automobile Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1914. ET Birdsall from Detroit was involved as a designer, CJ Flannigan, G. Pass and DC Throckmorton. Birdsall made the first vehicle in Detroit. The small series production took place in Gary , Indiana . The brand name was Gary . Production ended in the same year. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

There were no connections with the taxi manufacturer Gary Taxicab Company or the commercial vehicle manufacturer Gary Motor Truck Company .

The only model was the Six . The six-cylinder engine developed 34 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 343 cm . There was a choice of a touring car with six seats and a speedster with two seats. One source describes the original price of $ 2,300 as attractive.
