Vaughan was an American automobile brand.

Brand history

Guy Vaughan was a racing car driver. Among other things, he drove for the FB Stearns Company . In 1909 he planned to start producing automobiles himself. In 1910 he joined the WA Wood Manufacturing Company in Kingston , New York, United States . In that year the production of automobiles started on a small scale. The brand name was Vaughan .

In 1911 it merged with Wyckoff, Church & Partridge , which import vehicles from Decauville and also sell vehicles from Stearns. The own production continued. Bankruptcy followed in 1912 . Vaughan then moved to Oldsmobile and later back to Stearns.

In 1914 Frederick E. Moskovics took over the company. He continued production until 1914. It was dissolved in early 1915. In November 1915, the plant was sold to the Remington Motor Company sold

The Model V was available from 1910 to 1912 . It had a four-cylinder engine with 30 hp . The chassis had a 305 cm wheelbase . There was a choice of open touring cars with five seats and runabouts with two seats. The original price was 3200 US dollars .

In 1913 the runabout was discontinued. The price could be reduced to 2500 dollars.

Model VIII appeared in 1914 . The six-cylinder engine was specified with 34 hp. The wheelbase was 351 cm. Are called Roadster with two and three seats and touring car with five and six seats.
