Kirsch Planing Mill was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Peter Kirsch came from Heidelberg . He founded the woodworking company in 1893. The seat was in Decatur , Indiana . In 1905 he manufactured his first vehicle, in 1908 the second. Then he made automobiles to customer orders. The brand name was Kirsch . Ten of them were planned. The last known advertisement dates from 1916.

Then the track of the company is lost.

According to a newspaper report in the Decatur Democrat on June 11, 1908, the vehicles were state-of-the-art. The quality is described as high and the price as reasonable. One vehicle had an open body with space for two people. Kirsch had also developed a special brake .

A vehicle from 1913 still exists. A prisoner truck dated 1911 was on display in the National Automotive and Truck Museum , Auburn.
