Kirksel Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Doctor James Selkirk was involved in the Emancipator Automobile Company . In 1907 he tried with his Kirksel Motor Car Company in Aurora , Illinois , to establish his own company for vehicle production.

The plan failed. He made only two vehicles in collaboration with CC Hinckley Machine Shop from the same town. One was for personal use. The second was sold to Albert J. Denney. The brand name was Kirksel . To do this, Selkirk simply swapped the two syllables of his name.

The only model had a four-cylinder engine . It made 50 hp . The structure was a touring car with space for four people.

In the production version, the vehicle should cost $ 3,000 .
