Chicago House Wrecking Company was an American manufacturer of houses and automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Chicago , Illinois in 1883 . Mainly it made houses. In 1910, a number of automobiles were also made that were marketed as Harris .

In 1913 it became Harris Brothers .

Only one model was on offer. It had an air-cooled two - cylinder four-stroke engine . It made 12 hp . It was mounted under the seat and drove the rear axle via a planetary gear and a cardan shaft . The chassis had a wheelbase of 188 cm . The setup was a simple runabout with two seats. There was a choice of versions as Model C with solid rubber tires and Model D with pneumatic tires. The original price was 395 US dollars .

With the vertical bulkhead at the front of the vehicle and the steering lever, the vehicle looked old-fashioned.
