Rech-Marbaker Company , previously Jacob Rech & Sons , was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

Jacob Rech & Sons of Philadelphia , Pennsylvania mainly made carriages . The traces lead back to the 1860s. Edward Rech and Jacob Rech are named as persons. Automobiles were first made in 1900 . The brand name was Rech . Production remained low.

In 1904 it became the Rech-Marbaker Company . One source gives January 1, 1904 as the foundation date, another as December 29, 1904. In 1906 another motor vehicle was manufactured. It was called Rech-Marbaker . Series production did not take place.

As a manufacturer of accessories for the automotive industry, the company existed until the First World War . It was disbanded in the 1920s.

Motor vehicles

The vehicles from 1900 were steam cars . They had a steam engine with one cylinder , while in the United States two-cylinder engines were common. The boiler and engine were mounted under the front seats, the water tank in the rear and the gasoline tank under the floor.

The vehicle from 1906 was an electric car . It remained a prototype .
