Carley Iron Works was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Carley brothers ran the company in Colfax , Washington State . One source gives the names Myron and William Carley. They were engaged in hardware . They also made automobiles between 1900 and 1902 , which were marketed as Carley . In total, only a few vehicles were built.

In 1913, Orville Chase and CS Mitchell took over the company.

The prototype appeared on the streets on July 4, 1900. The engine developed 2.5 hp . The vehicle weighed around 250 kg. The maximum speed was given as about 19 km / h. The open body offered space for four people. This vehicle was still roadworthy in 1913, ready for scrap during the Second World War , was restored and presented to the public in 1977. Later it caught fire. The remains still exist.
