Webster Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in New York City in 1902 . The office was in Greenwich Village , a part of Manhattan . In the same year the production of automobiles began in cooperation with the Frank Mossberg Company . The brand name was Webster . Production ended in 1903. A total of five or six vehicles were built.

The successor company was the United States Auto-Motor Company .

Only one model was on offer. It had a four-cylinder engine with 16 hp . The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a three-speed gearbox and a cardan shaft . Depending on the source, the structure was either a runabout or a tonneau . One illustration is labeled Touring and shows a tonneau.
