Pendleton (car brand)

Pendleton was an American automobile brand. Alternatively, the vehicles were also called Trumbull .

Brand history

The Trumbull Manufacturing Company , based in Warren , Ohio, was engaged in mechanical engineering. William C. Pendleton is named as the leading person. The first automobile was built in 1899 . The brand name was both Pendleton and Trumbull . Production ended in 1905. A total of seven vehicles were built. The company was still active as Warren Tool Corporation in the 21st century.

The first vehicle from 1899 had a single cylinder engine that was mounted under the seat. Was steered with a steering lever.

A steam car followed in 1901 .

In 1902 another vehicle with a gasoline engine was manufactured. The grille and leather seats were striking .

Two models have survived for 1905. One was called the Canopy Top Touring Car , which is a touring car with a convertible top. The folding steering wheel was remarkable . There was also a model with a four-cylinder engine . The 28/42 HP was called the Double Side-Entrance Tonneau , i.e. a tonneau with side access.
