Metropol Motors Corporation was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1913 in Port Jefferson , New York , United States . The Only Motor Car Company is considered to be the predecessor. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Metropol . The designer was Francois Richard. In April 1914, financial problems became known because a bill for advertisements for $ 136 was not paid. Production ended that year.

In November 1914, the Finley Robertson Porter Company took over the plant.

In 1913 there was only one model. It had a four-cylinder engine with 107.95 mm bore , 200.025 mm stroke and 7323 cm³ displacement . It was rated at 30 hp, but actually made 90 hp . The chassis had a 292 cm wheelbase . The structure was a speedster with two seats. The original price was $ 1,475.

1914 from the Metropolitan Model C . The two-seater structure was now called the roadster . Otherwise no differences are known. The Model D as a five-seat touring car and the Model E as a two-seat racer had the same engine .
