Schram was Vice President, General Manager and Design Engineer. In the same year the production of automobiles began. California was initially planned as the brand name , but it was recognized in time that the California Automobile Company was already marketing vehicles under this name. Schram left the company in 1913, which then founded the Schram Motor Car Company . Frederick Cole, who previously sold Cole Motor Car Company vehicles in San Francisco , took over his position. The company was renamed the Cole California Car Company . Sachs remained president. It is unclear whether vehicles were manufactured at all after this period.

Production ended in 1913. In 1914 the company was dissolved.
