Moore Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1906. The headquarters were in New York City and the plant in Bridgeport , Connecticut . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Moore . The designers were FD Howe and WJP Moore, who was previously a manager at Worthington Automobile Company . Production ended in 1907.

Other US manufacturers of Moore- branded passenger cars included Moore Motor Vehicle Company and Moore Car Corporation of America .

Only one model was on offer. It had a four-cylinder engine with 40 hp . The chassis had a 295 cm wheelbase . There was a choice of a runabout with three seats as well as a touring car and a limousine with seven seats each.

The new prices were very high. So the chassis cost alone 5000 US dollars , the Runabout 6500 US dollars, the World Touring Car 7000 US dollars and 8,000 US dollars sedan. For comparison. The Ford Model K with an equally powerful six-cylinder engine cost only $ 2,800.
