De Shaw Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The mechanic Charles De Shaw developed a vehicle in 1907 and offered it as De Shaw . It was not until the end of 1908 that a company was founded in Brooklyn , New York City . PH Clark was President, WE Vogt Vice President, SW Bates Treasurer, EW Lester Secretary and Charles de Shaw Engineer and Superintendent. Production ended in 1909.

Strikingly light vehicles were on offer. They had two-stroke engines . The 12/14 HP had a three-cylinder engine that weighed only 54 kg. There is no fan . The runabout was open and had two seats. An emergency seat was available for an additional charge . The curb weight of the two-seater was given as 363 kg. In 1909 this model was equipped with a fan, although the engineer considered it superfluous.

In 1909, two models with four-cylinder engines added to the range. One was the 14 HP . Its engine developed 14 hp. The vehicle was also bodied as a runabout. The 28 HP was a touring car and had a 28 HP engine.
