Ideal shop

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ideal shop was a small American company manufacturing of automobiles of the brand Ideal .

description

The company existed only in 1914 and was based in Buffalo , New York, United States . A prototype was successfully tested. How many vehicles were actually built after that is unknown. It turned out that the demand for such vehicles, which had been deployed rapidly in the USA in 1912, subsided just as suddenly.

There were several US manufacturers of Ideal branded passenger vehicles : Ideal Automobile Manufacturing Company , Richmond & Holmes Company , B. & P. Company , Ideal Motor Vehicle Company , Ideal Runabout Manufacturing Company , Bethlehem Automobile Company , Ideal Electric Vehicle Company , Ideal Shop and Bethlehem Motor Truck Company .

vehicles

The vehicles had a two-cylinder engine of Spacke . 88.9 mm bore and 93.218 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 1157 cc . The displacement was thus above the limit for cycle cars . The engine output of 13 bhp (9.7 kW) was transmitted to the rear axle via a two-speed planetary gearbox and belt drive . The wheelbase was 76 inches (1390 mm), the track 36 inches (91 mm). Three versions were offered: one-seater, two-seater with seats one behind the other (tandem arrangement) or two-seater with two seats next to one another. The narrow track width suggests, however, that the latter variant led to confined spaces.
