WB Engler was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

William B. Engler was an engineer at General Motors . He manufactured a vehicle in his hometown of Pontiac , Michigan , in 1913 . He then moved to Detroit , Michigan, and began manufacturing automobiles. The brand name was Engler . Production ended in 1914. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

On offer were small cars that were called cycle cars but did not meet the criteria. The air-cooled two-cylinder engine came from Deluxe . It had 88.9 mm bore , 93.2 mm stroke , 1157 cc displacement and made 10 hp . It drove the rear axle via belts.

The first version had a 279 cm wheelbase and 91 cm track width and offered space for two people in a row. In the second version from spring 1914, the wheelbase was shortened to 234 cm and the track width was widened to 112 cm. It remains unclear whether the seats were now arranged next to each other. The original price was 385 US dollars .
