States Cyclecar Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Samuel E. Jones, George W. Meredith and Victor W. Valade founded the company in July 1914. The company was based in Detroit , Michigan . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was States . In January 1915, vehicles were presented at the Detroit Automobile Show . Production ended in 1915.

There was no association with the States Motor Car Manufacturing Company , which used the same brand name from 1916.

Only one model was on offer. It was called a cyclecar . However, the engine displacement was too large for this classification. It was a four-cylinder engine with 60.325 mm bore , 101.6 mm stroke and 1162 cm³ displacement. The engine output was specified as 10/15 hp . The chassis had a 229 cm wheelbase . The structure was an open roadster with two seats next to each other. The original price was 365 US dollars .
