Croesus Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

WL Bell and George W. Curtiss founded the company in January 1906. Its headquarters were in Kansas City , Missouri . The production of automobiles began, which were offered as Croesus . Production ended in 1906. In January 1907, the two owners separated after a difference of opinion. A total of two vehicles were built.

The junior had a water-cooled four - cylinder engine with an output of 18/20 hp . It drove the rear axle via a three-speed gearbox. The wheelbase was 224 cm, the track 142 cm. The open runabout was also known as a roadster and was designed for two seats. The curb weight was given as 499 kg.

The Four also had a water-cooled four-cylinder engine, which, however, was specified with 35/40 hp. A 125.4 mm bore and 136.5 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 6743 cc . The chassis had a wheelbase of 274 cm. The track width corresponded to the smaller model. The vehicle weighed 1161 kg. The touring car had space for seven people.
