Cloyd Auto Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Percival C. Cloyd ran an auto repair shop in Nashville , Tennessee . In 1911 he founded a separate company for the production of automobiles. The brand name was Cloyd . Production ended in the same year. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

Only one model was on offer. It had a four-cylinder engine with 40 hp . It drove the rear axle via a three-speed gearbox and a cardan shaft . The choice was between touring car with 312 cm wheelbase and Roadster and runabout with 279 cm wheelbase. The original price was 1400 US dollars .
