Benham Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

George Benham founded the company in Detroit , Michigan in 1914 . In January 1914, he took over what was left of the S&M Motor Company . Production of automobiles marketed as Benham ceased in September 1914, when bankruptcy began . A total of 19 vehicles were built.

The vehicles largely corresponded to the models from S & M. Only the emblem on the radiator grille was replaced and other small changes made to details.

The only model was named Model 6-48 . These were references to the six-cylinder engine and 48 hp . The Continental Motors Company supplied the engine. The chassis had a wheelbase of 330 cm . There was a choice of two-seat roadster , five-seat touring car and seven-seat town car .
