Malcolm Cyclecar (1914)

The Malcolm-Jones Cyclecar Company was an American automobile manufacturer in Detroit, Michigan . Founders were E. Malcolm Jones , CH Lawrence and Charles H. Bennett . In 1914 a cycle car was built there under the name Malcolm .

description

The Malcolm was a tandem two-seater with two seats in a row and a third seat on request. The roadster was powered by a V2 engine with 10/15 hp (11 kW). The price should be US $ 395, but only prototypes were made.

In 1915 a light vehicle based on the cycle car appeared, which had a longer wheelbase and a four-cylinder engine with 18 bhp (13.2 kW). It cost US $ 425. The company was renamed the Malcolm Motor Company in order to get rid of the ill-famed word Cyclecar. Nevertheless, the customers were not fooled and turned down this car as well.

Malcolm disappeared from the market that same year.
